Privacy policy
Effective September 10, 2026
BattPool is a football-picks and league-management service operated by Jacob Batt. For privacy questions or requests, email jacob@jbatt.net.
Information we use
We process your email address, username, optional name and profile details, account credentials, league membership, picks, standings, and notification preferences to operate BattPool. Passwords are stored as password hashes. We also process network information, such as IP addresses, and service logs to deliver, protect, and troubleshoot the service.
The native iOS app uses email and password sign-in. When you select Remember me, session credentials are stored in the device’s Keychain. Appearance preferences are stored locally. The website may also allow you to link a Google account; that flow uses your verified email and Google account identifier to authenticate you.
League visibility
Authorized league members can see participant names, standings, and picks when they are released under league rules. Commissioners and service administrators have access needed to manage their authorized features. Information you place in shared league fields is visible to people with access to that league.
Service providers and notifications
We use hosting and database providers to store and process service data, Resend to deliver transactional and league emails, and OneSignal and Apple Push Notification service for notifications. OneSignal processes device and subscription identifiers, a BattPool account identifier, notification interactions, and technical information needed for delivery. The notification SDK may process technical/device information when the app starts, before you enable push alerts.
Providers process information to operate their services for BattPool under their applicable data-processing and privacy terms. Read OneSignal’s privacy policy and Resend’s privacy policy. You can change email and push preferences in BattPool, and device notification permission in iOS Settings. Push notifications are optional.
Retention and deletion
We retain account information while your account is active to provide the service. To delete your account, open Account → Settings → Delete account in the native app, enter your current password, type DELETE, and confirm. Personal account and sign-in information is removed from the live service, your sessions stop working, your authored messages are removed, and deletion of your associated OneSignal profile is requested. If a service error prevents completion, the app reports the error so you can retry.
Shared league results are retained under a new anonymous player identity to preserve other participants’ results. Stored personal identifiers in those shared records are redacted. Copies in operational backups, security logs, and already-delivered emails may remain under the applicable system or provider retention lifecycle; they are not accessible as an active account. Contact us for a privacy request involving those copies. Information may also be retained when required by law.
Your choices
You can edit available profile fields and notification preferences in the app. Contact us to request access, correction, or deletion assistance. Deleting the app from your device does not delete your BattPool account.
Children
BattPool is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has supplied personal information without appropriate authorization, contact us so we can investigate and remove it.
Changes
We update this page when our practices change and show the current effective date above. Material changes will be communicated through the service or an account notice where appropriate.
